International Project Management Day 2009
Global Staff has attended International Project Managment Day 2009.
International Project Management Day is a global, annual celebration that was established as a way of recognizing the extraordinary efforts made by project management professionals everywhere.
Kindred Healthcare will again be hosting a series of events at their support center (4th & Broadway) to celebrate International Project Management Day. This year, KIPMI has partnered with Kindred Healthcare in preparing and delivering the events which are tentatively scheduled to begin at 9:00 am and run through 3:45 pm, for seven contact hours of professional development.
As in years past, the events are open to the Louisville community and will be free of charge. The objectives of the activities and events are to:
· Raise awareness of project management roles, tools and techniques
· Celebrate accomplishments
· Demonstrate the impact of effective project management
· Recognize project management as a profession
Currently there are four one-hour workshops being planned throughout the day and two keynote speakers to present from 11:30am – 1pm.
The keynote speakers will be Mr. Jamie Link, CEO of the 2010 World Equestrian Games and Mr. John Britt, Partner at Mountjoy and Bressler, LLP and co-author of “Who Killed Change” with Ken Blanchard.
Topics for the workshops include managing sponsors, project planning tools and case studies from successful projects. Workshop presenters include: Chuck Millhollan, PgMP, PMP speaking on Developing Stakeholder Trust; Kelly Young, PMP presenting a case study on a large scale implementation of MOSS technology; Michelle Weisgrau, PMP speaking on managing sponsors and Yvonne Stutesman presenting on project planning tools.
In addition, between the hours of 11:00 am and 1:30 pm, in the atrium of Kindred Healthcare’s support center, you can view table displays of outstanding projects and talk with project management resources from across the Kentuckiana project management community.
